Sanitary facilities for summer camp
The youth camp, founded in the 1930´s, runs mainly during the summer months, lodging guests in bungalows or tents. It needed temporary sanitation facilities with toilet and shower areas. To accommodate a contracted timeline for design and construction, AFF architects decided to use prefabricated cells so that the addition would be characterized by an industrial image, while extending the building containers with inclined roof dormers and vestibules that featured a simultaneously repetitive and varied pattern. Inside, the facilities were dressed with a textured surface that breaks up the immaculate whiteness of the sterile hygienic surface. Along with the use of modules, the choice of colour scheme helped to create the impression of an unconventional building that was built with the use of minimal tools and which allows the original building components to remain plainly visible.
